2006 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren front2
If you remember "McLaren" as the name behind the fastest car of the 20th century, you remember correctly. It should then come as no surprise that this Formula 1 entity has helped create Mercedes' most powerful road car ever, thanks to supercharging its 5.4-liter V8 to 617-horsepower. It's up at 60 MPH in 3.6 seconds – on level with the world's upper echelon of supercars. At nearly a half-million, it's priced like one too, but it's more accurate to think of the comfortable, easy-riding SLR as the world's fastest touring car.
