2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS by Road Race Engineering front
Mitsubishi's iconic sports coupe takes the lead in speed courtesy of the GT's 263-horsepower 3.8-liter V6, which takes the Eclipse to 60 MPH in 5.8 seconds when mated to the 6-speed manual. A 5-speed sequential auto is available; the 162-horsepower 4-cylinder model has one less gear with each transmission. Nifty new features include a 650-watt Rockford Fosgate MP3 stereo with a 10-inch subwoofer and Digital Signal Processing. It's still front-wheel-drive, weight is up, and the back seat is as intolerable as ever. Mitsubishi has the opportunity to make the Eclipse legit again by approving that racy red Ralliart concept, which carries the Evo's turbo engine, transmission, all-wheel-drive, rear differential, plus 20-inch wheels.
