2006 Saab 9-5 front
Based on an older version of the Opel Vectra, this 1999-era Saab comes in sedan and wagon form and matches any Volvo for safety. 2006 brings a new look and a consolidation that leaves one engine: a 2.3-liter turbo 4 with 260 horsepower, the most powerful ever. The 9-5 BioPower concept runs on E85 bio-ethanol (85% ethanol, 15% gasoline) and actually enjoys an extra dose of 50 horsepower, for 310 total, dropping 0-60 times from 6.9 seconds to under 6. That and reduced CO2 emissions make this a double win, if everything The General says is true.
