2006 Saleen S7 front
With the 987-horsepower Bugatti Veyron finally here, Saleen's claim of having the fastest car in the world was over before it started. Upgraded from last year's paltry 500 horsepower, twin turbochargers have taken the 7.0-liter V8 to new heights of 750 horsepower (100 more than the Ferrari Enzo) and 700 pounds-feet of torque, which boot this 2,800-pound mid-engined car to 60 MPH in 3 seconds and through the quarter-mile in 10.7, eventually surpassing 200 MPH. Weight distribution is 40/60, redline is 6,500 RPM, suspension is all double wishbones, the transmission is a 6-speed stick, tires are P275/35ZR19 in front and P345/30ZR20 in back, and price is $555,000.
