2006 Saturn Ion front
Saturn's controversial compact creeps closer to conventional. Slight restyles on the inside and out brought some normality and a traditional 4-speed automatic replaced the 5-speed auto and the troublesome CVT. It's still the only one to offer a "quad coupe" with suicide rear doors. The supercharged 205-horsepower Red Line can give most sport compacts a run for their money. A stronger 170-horsepower 2.4-liter version of the standard engine can now be installed in Level 3 Ions.
