2006 Subaru Legacy Front

Subaru is building on the success of its Impreza WRX by spreading some of that high-performance flavor throughout the family. The Legacy and Outback achieve a class-leading 250 horsepower by two routes: a turbocharged 2.5-liter H4 and a 3.0-liter H6. 5-speed automatics with SportShift hook up with either; the base 2.5-liter (now up to 175 horsepower) gets a 4-speed auto, and both 4-cylinders can have a 5-speed manual. Outback models, after officially splitting off from the Legacy line some years ago, continue to be raised-up, rugged-looking versions of Legacys.
