2007 GMC Yukon Rear
Arriving right after gas hit $3/gallon is GM's new line of gas-guzzling full-size SUVs, on sale in the near future as early 2007 models. It guzzles a bit less gas than before (less than Toyota, Nissan, or Ford, says GM) thanks to Displacement On Demand technology on its 5.3-liter V8, which is now up at 320 horsepower. The 4.8-liter V8 will return at a later date with 290, and new for the upscale Denali is a 6.2-liter V8 with 380 horsepower and 415 pounds-feet of torque mated to a new six-speed automatic with manual shift ability and two overdrive gears. The fully-boxed frame is stiffer than last year's and the Yukon rides on a new coil-over-shock front suspension and rack-and-pinion steering. Interiors are much classier than before and room and storage are increased in all positions. Interesting new features are a power tumbling second-row seat for easy access and power liftgate for easy loading.
