With a few sedans, a few hatchbacks, a wagon, and a roadster having sprung from the Volkswagen A-platform family architecture, a four-seat convertible had to follow sometime. Measuring a little shorter than a Jetta, the Eos resembles one on the inside with the same rich ambience and well-sorted controls. The Eos holds a lot more go-power than other VWs, starting with the 200-horsepower turbo 4 (right where the GLI and GTI end) and going on to a 250-horsepower, 3.2-liter version of VW's narrow V6, much like the 2004 Golf R32. The Eos is still "months away," so expect a summer 2006 debut.
