2005 BMW M3 Performance Package front.jpg
While the world awaits the next M3 (scheduled for 2008, judging by tradition), BMW also offered a slight diversion in the form of the M3 Competition Package. The marvelous 333-horsepower engine is unchanged but the rest of the car features revised suspension, quicker steering (from 15.4 to 14.5), 19-inch wheels, less intrusive stability control, and compound, cross-drilled brake rotors (enlarged in front). Either the 6-speed manual or SMG transmission is available. The Competition Package goes on sale in February for a reported $4,000, even though the $51,995 price tag implies a cost of $3,000.
