2005 Volvo XC90 Yamaha V8 engine rear
Volvo's SUV gets more go-power thanks to parent company Ford. Ford has struck deals with Yamaha for engines before, and one result was the V6 for the old Taurus SHO. Ford asked for that SHO engine again, this time with an extra pair of cylinders tacked on. Abracadabra – Volvo now has a V8. It manages 311 horsepower while meeting ULEV II standards, Volvo is proud to point out. It's coming early next year as a "late 2005," priced at just over $46,000.
