Just when you were done jumping for joy at the thought of 400 standard horsepower, along comes the Corvette Z06. With a 7.0-liter "small block" (yeah right) LS7 V8 and an astounding 7,000 RPM redline, its 505 horsepower shoves the Z06 to 60 MPH in 3.7 seconds, handily destroying the Dodge Viper from its entirely reasonable $65,000 price point. That also beats a lot of cars with a first name of "Porsche" and an obscure little foreign car known as the Lamborghini Gallardo.
