2003 Bentley Arnage Review

Equipped with a vintage look and ample interior room.

Reviewed by Automotive on

The 2003 Bentley Arnage has a signature grille in the front that is reminiscent of a 1960s upper class vehicle in a typical movie scene. It retains the old-school look with its round front lights flanking the grille and filling the entire side areas. It's far from old school under the dated hood but rides with a powerful 6.8-liter V-8 engine that's standard on all the trims. Modern safety features include side impact airbags and an Anti-lock Brake Systems (ABS) that is standard features on all the trims. Conservative in its offerings, it continues as a luxury vehicle with the potential for owners to select custom fittings including body color and interior features. This customizability turns what is a fairly ordinary vehicle into a statement in opulence.

Safety features such as ABS and side impact and side curtain mounted-airbags become standard features. The RL stretches the wheelbase to 132-inches to make a longer and more luxurious sedan with dimensions more like a limousine than a sedan.

The 2003 Bentley Arnage's body-colored mirrors are power operated and come fitted with electro-chromatic technology that adjusts vehicle mirrors against glare for night driving. It comes with a rear spoiler, defogger on the rear window, and variable intermittent wipers on the windshield. It runs on 19-inch alloy wheels completed with 255/45R Y performance tires.

The 2003 Bentley Arnage is a stately vehicle sitting on 122.77 inch wheelbase, and other dimensions are 76.06 inches width, 59.69 inches height, 212.76 inches length, while sporting maximum cargo capacity of 13.2 cubic feet.

The 2003 Bentley Arnage has driver and passenger seats that come with adjustable lumbar support, have multi-level heat settings, and are height-adjustable. The front has leather bucket seats, while the rear has reclining seats with a folding center armrest that includes storage. Power fittings include remote door locks, remote trunk release, power mirrors, and windows. Reverse-tilt exterior mirrors provide better curb view to the driver while the parking sensors in the front and in the rear ensure safe parking of the ample frame.

The 2003 Bentley Arnage’s storage spaces are in the front console, the door pockets of the front and rear doors, an overhead console in the front seat-back, as well as cup holders in the front and in the rear. The tilt-adjustable steering wheel controls include cruise and audio controls mounted to it. To complete its high-end appeal, leather and wood trim grace the dashboard, doors, and center console. The gearshift adds an alloy trim to the leather finish.

The 2003 Bentley Arnage has an illuminating vanity mirror for the driver and front passenger, reading lights in the front and rear, and electro-chromatic technology on the interior rear view mirror. For comfort, it has independent air-conditioning settings in the front and in the rear. The driver’s seat has memorized settings that include rear view mirror and steering wheel positioning for four drivers. The dashboard has a clock and a DVD-based navigation system takes voice directions. The engine has 16 valves overhead valves (OHV) but is a fuel guzzler and comes aptly fitted with a fuel tank with a 26.4-gallon capacity.
