The 2008 Bentley Arnage comes with a twin-turbo V-8 that creates between 450 and 500 horsepower. With three trim levels available and diamond-patterned upholstery, the interior looks as rich as it feels. The Flying B emblem retracts to keep it safe from thieves and sits on top of a grille with a darker finish than the Arnage R and Arnage RL. The sedan model comes with a choice of 40 different colors with the option of a two-tone combination. Options for interior trim on the Bentley Arnage include oak, walnut, black lacquer, and bird’s eye maple. The Arnage comes full of safety and luxury so that the driver and passengers feel not only comfortable but confident.
Body Styles: full-size luxury sedan
Engines: 6.8-liter V-8, 6.8-liter V-8 turbo
Transmissions: six-speed automatic
Models: Bentley Arnage T, Bentley Arnage R, Bentley Arnage RL
All three of the Bentley Arnage models show no upgrades for the 2008 model year. They have not been upgraded or changed since 2005.
The door mirrors are lighted and auto dimming. All three models of the Arnage have dual exhaust. The heated mirrors avoid frost and fog and offer electronic controls. The Bentley Arnage has a power moonroof to allow for extra fresh air. The Arnage T model uses fog lights that remain unavailable on the R and RL models. The rear window comes equipped with a defroster and an optional blind. The headlights use delay shut-off so the driver can see his or her way to the door. The HID headlights pierce further into the darkness at night.
Automatic temperature control keeps the interior comfortable and adjusts for different drivers. The navigation system helps find the way on both in-town commutes and cross-country trips. A programmable garage door opener comes with all three models. Cup holders sit in both the front and rear cabin areas. The sound system consists of an AM/FM radio as well as a CD player and offers MP3 compatibility as an option. Rear audio controls come standard and an entertainment system remains optional. The standard audio system has six speakers but offers an upgrade to an extra two speakers. The front and rear seats are heated. The leather steering wheel offers an option to include a variety of different woods. The console insert and dashboard insert both use real wood. The front bucket seats feel very comfortable. The Arnage RL model also uses bucket seats in the back, but the Arnage R and T models include split bench rear seats.
Performance & Handling
The adaptive suspension in all three models auto-levels to maintain excellent balance and an even ride for everybody inside. The alloy wheels get supported by independent suspensions. Two tire size options for the Arnage T and three tire size options for the Arnage R and RL can be adjusted for the driver’s habits or tastes. Arnage drivers have reported that despite the car’s weight, the suspension has a feel that mixes sportiness and comfort with no noticeable difference between the sport and normal settings. The Arnage models have neither the bumpiness found in many sports cars nor the sensation of floating that older luxury cars offer. Even with traction control and electric stability control to enhance the car’s grip on the road, the Bentley Arnage should be driven sensibly because all the extra weight could be hard to control at high speeds.
The 2008 Bentley Arnage includes several safety features, including front head airbags for the driver and front passenger, dual front and rear side-impact airbags, a security system, traction control, electronic stability control, and anti-lock brakes.
