1995 Bentley Continental Review

A luxury coupe that raises the bar.

Reviewed by Automotive on

The 1995 Bentley Continental offers consumers an elegant coupe with luxurious features. While it's considered a coupe, this really only applies to the overall body shape. It's larger than many luxury sedans, so the coupe design actually ends up increasing the interior space noticeably.

The 1995 Bentley Continental is an expensive vehicle. The fact it has a bit of a lower price for being a coupe that doesn’t actually translate to a major change in price. It's still an extremely expensive vehicle, and the automaker is also a very exclusive manufacturer, which can make purchasing from them difficult. The small production runs also means the used market is miniscule. It's going to run a large amount of money, no matter how it is purchased, but there are virtually no vehicles with a hope of competing with it.

The Range

Body Styles: coupe
Engines: 6.8-liter eight-cylinder
Transmissions: four-speed automatic
Models: Bentley Continental

What's New

The 1995 Bentley Continental receives no major changes from the previous year’s model.

The 1995 Bentley Continental is a very large, elegantly designed coupe. Unlike most coupes on the market, it's larger than most sedans, even the traditional larger luxury models. The style is distinct compared to other auto manufacturers, which helps augment the prestige, and it's immediately recognizable as a Bentley. This is a major advantage for drivers specifically purchasing it as a sign of prestige or to impress clients or business associates. It's also for drivers just looking for an attractive vehicle.

The 1995 Bentley Continental has a large, luxurious interior. Despite being a coupe, the interior has more than ample leg room due to the large size. Standard equipment include air-conditioning, automatic climate control, power heated mirrors, power locks, power windows, reading lights, power seats, cruise control, trip computer, power seats, anti-theft alarm system, keyless entry, leather seating, heated seats, front and rear cigar lighters, auto-dim mirrors, premium audio, AM/FM radio, and a cassette player.

Performance & Handling

The 1995 Bentley Continental has excellent handling and performance. The powerful engine offers good acceleration and an impressive top speed. It also handles and maneuvers far better than expected because of the large size. The performance is fairly typical for a Bentley, outside the supercharged Turbo R.

The 1995 Bentley Continental is equipped with standard features, such as dual-front airbags and four-wheel anti-lock brakes. Overall, it's typical for a high-end luxury vehicle released in 1995, although the safety features all less robust than later vehicles in this price range.
