What's New

The 2000 Bentley Continental models are nearly identical to the ones offered in 1999.

Exterior

The 2000 Bentley Continental has approximately a 210-inch length, 81-inch width, 58-inch height, and 120-inch wheelbase. Its large size gives it a commanding presence on the road. The modern design of this car is exquisite, attracting lots of attention and getting nods of approval wherever it goes. It has an aggressive stance with body-colored front and rear bumpers, chrome trim around its side windows and on its bumpers, heated power door mirrors, and a solar-reflective windshield. The Continental weighs 5401 pounds and sits on 18-inch alloy wheels.

Interior

The interior of the 2000 Bentley Continental is roomy enough to comfortably fit four passengers. In the front, there are heated sport leather bucket seats with height-adjustable head restraints divided by an armrest. In the dash, there are logically-arranged gauges, conveniently located controls, a push button starter, and a covered storage console. In the rear, there is a leather bench seat that fits two people. There is an armrest located in the middle of the seat. The Continental features a leather-wrapped steering wheel, remote power locks, one-touch power windows, front and rear reading lights, and an AM/FM stereo with a cassette and CD player included.

Performance & Handling

The 2000 Bentley Continental models come packed with a turbocharged, 6.8-liter, V-8 engine that cranks out horsepower ranging from 400 to 420 and lb-ft of torque from 619 to 650, depending on the model. The heavy-duty V-8 is combined with a smooth-shifting four-speed automatic transmission, which contributes to its swift acceleration. The Continental has a top speed of 167 mph and zero to 60 mph is clocked at a hair over six seconds. The Continental is built with an independent wishbone front suspension with a stabilizer bar and coil springs teamed with an independent strut rear suspension with a stabilizer bar, coil springs, and automatic leveling. The result is a smooth and stable ride. It handles gracefully, capable of maneuvering easily through traffic and hugging corners majestically. Steering responds appropriately and precisely.

The 2000 Bentley Continental has a standard set of safety features that provide ample protection to all passengers and more efficiency. It is equipped with anti-lock brakes on all four wheels and traction control to allow for better handling. There are driver and front passenger front-impact airbags installed.
