Intro: What you see here is the most powerful vehicle that Bentley has ever produced. The 2011 Continental Supersports is a more focused, lightweight, and powerful version of Bentley's lavish Continental GT 4-passenger luxury coupe and convertible.
The Supersports weighs in at over 300 pounds less than the base Continental GT thanks to carbon-ceramic disc brakes, lightweight 20-inch wheels and extensive use of carbon fiber throughout the interior.
Performance: Those enlarged front vents provide fresh air for the twin-turbocharged 6-liter W12 residing within. The W12 is in fact two narrow-angle V6's mated side-by-side, converging on a single crankshaft. It puts out a massive 621 horsepower and 590 pound feet of torque. That's 69 horsepower and 111 pound feet more than the standard Continental GT. Power is sent to all-wheel drive through Bentley's quick-shift 6-speed transmission, allowing the nearly 5,000-pound Supersports to go from zero to sixty in just 3.7 seconds.
Fuel Economy: Fuel Economy for the Continental Supersports is as follows:
Features: With its concerted efforts to achieve peak performance, Bentley has sacrificed nothing in terms of luxury. The bold 2-tone red and black interior grabs the eye while the extensive use of carbon fiber is evident throughout the interior, including the center console which houses the toggles for the adjustable air suspension and active rear spoiler.
All Supersports come standard with a DVD-based navigation system and 300-watt, 12-speaker sound system with 6-disc changer and iPod interface. Our test model came equipped with the available Naim 1100-watt premium audio system, a subwoofer, 15 speakers, and a 13.2 channel amp.
Safety: Standard safety features include 4-wheel antilock disc brakes, electronic stability program, driver and front passenger front airbags, front and rear side mounted airbags, and front and rear side curtain airbags.
Pricing: Base MSRP for the 2011 Bentley Continental Supersports Coupe is $267,000. A convertible model starts at $280,400.
Warranty: The Continental Supersports is backed by a 3-year, unlimited-distance powertrain warranty.
Summary: Aggressive looks tell only part of the story of this super luxury car turned hot-rod in the 2011 Bentley Continental Supersports.
