The 2007 BMW 3 Series is one of the most expensive car series in the entry-level luxury segment. But with athletic handling, powerful engines of brilliant design, outstanding build quality, and a host of great features, these cars are worth the cost. The driving pleasure provided is also worth the price of admission. While there is tough competition in this segment, namely the offerings from Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, and Jaguar; the BMW vehicles still manage to distinguish themselves with class, performance, quality, and distinction. Buyers interested into entering the luxury car class can shop around, but that shopping should definitely include taking a look at the offerings from BMW.

Performance & Handling
All 328i and 328xi models have a three-liter, inline six-cylinder engine that produces 230 hp and 200 lb-ft of torque. The 335i and 335xi models use the same six-cylinder, but it is equipped with twin turbochargers and direct injection. This engine kicks out 300 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, while a six-speed automatic with a manual mode is optional. The 3 Series cars are class leaders for performance.
Handling is athletic and world-class; any 3 Series car will easily handle anything that can be thrown at it.
The 2007 BMW 3 Series offers standard safety equipment that includes dynamic brake control, anti-lock disc brakes, stability control, run-flat tires, front-seat side airbags, and full-length side curtain airbags. The 3 Series convertible lacks the side curtains but has a rollover protection system. The stability control system employs multiple features designed to improve braking performance, like periodically wiping the brake rotors when the windshield wipers are in use to keep brakes dry and snugging the pads to the rotors when the driver lifts off the throttle to increase brake responsiveness. All 3 Series cars offer rear parking sensors as an option.
