The 7-Series features body-colored bumpers in the front and rear, chrome trim on the bumpers, around the side windows, and side of body, chrome grille slats, heated power door mirrors, heated door locks, front fog lights, programmable daytime running lights, and a one-touch power glass sunroof. There is a solar-reflective windshield and tinted glass on the cabin. The 7-Series weighs 4597 pounds and sits on 17-inch alloy wheels, which may be upgraded to 18-inch wheels.

Interior

The interior of the 2000 BMW 7-Series is roomy enough to fit five passengers. Features vary depending on the model. The most basic model, the 740i, has 14-way power-adjustable seats with height-adjustable head restraints in the front, divided by an armrest/storage console. There are pockets in the doors for easy storage. In the dash, there are logically-arranged gauges that are easy to read and conveniently located controls. In the rear, there is a leather bench seat with two height-adjustable head restraints. The 7-Series 740i features a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, cup holders in the front and rear, a navigation system, power locks, one-touch power windows, automatic climate control, and an AM/FM stereo with a cassette and CD player included and 14 speakers. Performance & Handling

The 2000 BMW 7-Series comes packed with either a 4.4-liter V-8 engine that produces 282 horsepower and 324 lb-ft of torque or a 5.4-liter V-12 engine that cranks out 326 horsepower and 361 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are mated with a smooth-shifting five-speed automatic transmission. The result is smooth and powerful acceleration. The 7-Series models are capable of going from zero to 60 mph in about six seconds and have a top speed of 155 mph. The 7-Series is built with an independent strut front suspension with a stabilizer bar and coil springs teamed with an independent multi-link rear suspension with a stabilizer bar and coil springs. This setup provides for a smooth and stable ride, even on rough surfaces. These BMWs handle superbly, giving drivers the ability to gracefully maneuver in traffic and take corners with ease. Steering responds accordingly, allowing for precise control.
