2011 BMW X6 Review

Unlikely experiment of crossing an SUV and a coupe

Reviewed by Automotive on

In a Nutshell
The 2011 BMW X6 is a luxury crossover sport utility vehicle (SUV) that handles like a coupe and has enough space for four passengers, but the cargo space is fairly restricted for an SUV. With a variety of engines options, from the 300-horsepower, 3.0-liter I-6 engine in the xDrive to the 555-horsepower, twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 engine in the M Sport Utility, the X6 also offers either a six-speed or eight-speed automatic transmission.

With an athletic exterior, the BMW X6 has the style and the ground clearance of a utility vehicle. The 5000-pound X6 exhibits smooth on-the-road capabilities, superior road grip, and all-around outstanding performance. Its safety features are top-rate, but it gets only 17 mpg city / 25 mpg highway in fuel economy.
