The 2003 BMW Z4 is a curvy convertible with a sloping hood coming to a neat finish at the signature twin-kidney grille of BMW. It comes with 16 x 7-inch alloy wheels on 225/50R V run flat tires. The wheelbase on the 2003 BMW Z4 is longer on this edition at 98.2-inch. The other exterior dimensions of the vehicle are 70.1 inches wide, 50.1 inches high, and 161.1 inches long. It comes with variable intermittent wipers, and a convertible soft-top that retracts and closes manually.

The interior dimensions of the 2003 BMW Z4 are 37.3 inches headroom, 42 inches legroom, and 52.5 inches shoulder room. It comes with alloy trim on the inside on the dashboard and on the doors as a stylish finish for the leather interior. The vehicle has leather on the doors, on the dashboard and on the steering wheel. The power features of the 2003 BMW Z4 are power door locks, power mirrors, and power windows. It comes with cup holders in the front, and the doors have pockets.

The electric power steering with tilt and telescopic adjustment makes steering along winding roads easy. The vehicle comes with air conditioning and front reading lights. Both the driver and the passenger get a vanity mirror as standard convenience features. The dashboard has a clock and an entertainment system. The entertainment system includes ten speakers and an AM/FM radio with a single CD stereo player. The 2003 BMW Z4 comes pre-wired for wireless mobile devices.

Performance & Handling

The 2003 BMW Z4 comes with a 2.5-liter SIX-CYLINDER base engine that produces 184 hp at 6000 rpm, and 175 lb-ft torque at 3500 rpm, double overhead cam (DOHC), with 24 valves, and variable valve timing (VVT). It is a rear drive, five-speed manual transmission. The suspension system on the 2003 BMW Z4 includes MacPherson strut suspension, Multi-link rear suspension, and four-wheel independent suspension.

The pre-impact systems of the 2003 BMW Z4 include four-wheel anti-lock brake Systems (ABS), emergency braking assist system, and electronic brake-force distribution. The front wheels come with ventilated disc brakes, and the rear wheels come with solid disc brakes. Other stability and safety systems on the BMW Z4 are stability control and traction control systems.

The post-impact safety systems on the 2003 BMW Z4 include side-mounted airbags for the driver and the passenger. The airbags of the BMW Z4 come with occupant sensing deactivation system. This system senses the size of the occupant and deactivates the airbag. This helps to protect small-bodied occupants from injuries caused by a launching airbag. The seatbelts of the BMW Z4 come with a pre-tension system.

The system holds the seat occupant against the seatback in sharp braking or in an impact. The headrests in the front are height-adjustable. Height adjustable headrests protect the occupant’s neck from injuries and from whiplash in an impact. The rear seat comes with child seat anchors. The 2003 BMW Z4 has daytime running lights and an engine immobilizer. The trunk has an interior trunk release lever. This lever helps a person trapped in the trunk to release and open it from within.
