The 2000 BMW Z8 was manufactured as a completely new sports car with styling elements taken from the 1955 BMW Roadster 507. Its engine was enhanced to improve performance and handling.


The 2000 BMW Z8 has approximately a 173-inch length, 72-inch width, 52-inch height, and 99-inch wheelbase. It has a sizzling hot design that turns heads and brings smiles. The Z8 has body-colored bumpers in the front and rear, heated chrome power door mirrors, front fog lights, daytime running lights, a solar-reflective windshield, and tinted glass on the cabin. There is a power convertible aluminum roof with lining and fixed rollover protection. The Z8 also features Xenon headlights, neon turn signals and brake lights, and a twin kidney grille with side gills.


The 2000 BMW Z8 seats two passengers. Heated leather sport seats with height-adjustable head restraints highlight a full Nappa leather interior. The driver’s seat is power-adjustable. There are pockets in the doors and bins on the seats for easy storage. The dash features a starter button, cell phone, navigation system, six-disc CD changer, and manual air-conditioning. The gauges are logically arranged for easy readability, and the controls are conveniently located for easy use. The Z8 has remote power windows and locks, a keyless entry system with alarm, an exterior temperature gauge, and a tire pressure monitoring system.

It is capable of going from zero to 60 mph in less than five seconds. The Z8 has a top speed of 155 mph. It is mated with a smooth-shifting six-speed manual transmission. The Z8 is built with an independent front strut suspension with anti-roll bar and coil springs teamed with an independent multi-link rear suspension with anti-roll bar and coil springs. This setup enables a smooth, stable ride. It has speed-sensing hydraulic power-assist rack and pinion steering that helps drivers maneuver easily in traffic and take corners effortlessly.
