2011 Buick Regal Review

Revived Regal name results in sporty luxury

Reviewed by Automotive on

In a Nutshell
Returning after a hiatus since 2004, the 2011 Buick Regal is a mid-size family luxury sedan with a tightly-spaced rear seating area and German-tuned handling, so it's marketed as a sports sedan by the car maker. The Buick Regal is equipped with either a 2.4-liter I-4 engine coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission or a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine paired with a six-speed automatic or manual transmission.

Attractive styling and sporty handling are hallmarks of the front-wheel drive Buick Regal sedan, which comes with a wide array of standard features and luxury touches. The Regal's remarkable safety systems include StabiliTrak stability control, full-function traction control, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, dual-stage front airbags, side-curtain airbags, and a pedal-release system. The Regal is also blessed with great fuel economy as witnessed by it EPA rating of 19 mpg city / 30 mpg highway.

Comments:

Buick has really turned around in the last few years. You can definitely tell that they wanted to do something different with their latest models. This is a great car for people who will be using it often. It has plenty of space to keep all of your belongings and it looks just nice enough for it not to be ignored. The great thing about this vehicle is the handling. The car has a nice design, but it does look quite heavy. Thanks to the great handling, you will have no problem making it gently cruise along on the road. Another strong point of this car is that it also gets great gas mileage. You will not be going to the tank nearly as often thanks to the fact that it gets 30 MPG's. The design is better than previous Buicks but it's still quite boring looking to me. The vehicle has several nice features that should have been accented more. For instance the grille, and the headlights. The cabin of this car is fantastic and is great for anyone who wants to stay comfortable and be able to focus on the road. The seats feel nice and the main interface is tricky at first but not too hard to get used to. In terms of storage space, there is definitely room for improvement with this car. The trunk is a decent size but it is too small if you are going to decide to go on a road trip.
