The 1998 Cadillac Deville is a luxurious and powerful sedan with three different models available. The V-8 engines are quite powerful, and the StabiliTrak integrated chassis system allows it to be driven on all road surfaces.

The Range

Body Styles: sedan
Engines: 4.6-liter V-8
Transmissions: four-speed automatic
Models: Cadillac Deville, Cadillac Deville D’elegance, Cadillac Deville Concours

What's New

The 1998 Cadillac Deville has a new integrated chassis control system that prevents lateral skids, although it is not available on the Concours. The audio system is new and introduced in this year’s model as is the programmable door lock enhancements. New color options are available for both the interior and exterior. The Concours has newly-designed alloy wheels, and both the Concours and D’elegance have the new feature of heated front seats. Second-generation airbags are also now standard in all models.

Dual exhaust is standard on the D’elegance and Concours but is not available on the base model. The exterior rearview mirrors are heated power mirrors and are controlled from the interior. The headlamps turn on automatically when the outside light gets dim, and it's delay-off headlamps. Furthermore, fog lights and a defroster is equipped on the rear window, which ensures better visibility in cold or foggy weather.

The 1998 Cadillac Deville gets standard leather seats that are also heated in the front in the D’elegance and Concours. However, these features cost extra on the base model. The driver and front passenger seats are power adjustable for extra comfort. The steering wheel is trimmed with leather with a genuine wood trim insert in the dashboard in all the models. Bucket seats are installed in the front in the Concours, while the other models have bench seats. The base model’s audio system comes only with six speakers, but the other models come standard with eleven speakers and an option to upgrade to sixteen.

Performance & Handling

The 1998 Cadillac Deville installed a StabiliTrak, which is an integrated chassis system that enhances the handling so that it can adapt to all road surfaces. The new chassis system senses when the vehicle’s response is not appropriate and selectively uses the brake system to balance out control.

The 1998 Cadillac Deville has dual front side mounted airbags with the option of a security system for additional cost. The anti-lock brake system senses the road texture and adjusts the braking performance accordingly. Traction control helps the car get the most out of the tires and front impact airbags give additional protection from collisions.
