One of the few American luxury coupes still in production, the 1997 Cadillac Eldorado continues to be a decent car in a dwindling market segment. The centerpiece of the current Eldorado is the Northstar V-8 engine. The Northstar has proven itself to be a reliable and powerful engine that can propel the heavy Cadillac up to speed in a respectable time. The Eldorado comes with plenty of components that make the large, powerful coupe easier for the average driver to use.
The new model year brings the 1997 Cadillac Eldorado some useful handling upgrades. A new steering system in the base and a new chassis control system in the Touring make the Eldorado more responsive.
