2013 Cadillac SRX Review

Reviewed by Automotive on

Vehicle Overview

The 2013 Cadillac SRX compact luxury crossover was first introduced in 2009 and has undergone a recent refresh for the new model year. Powered by a 3.6-liter V-6 engine, the new SRX produces 308 horsepower while getting an EPA-estimated 17/24 mpg city/highway, with a 294 mile range. Cadillac focused its efforts toward refreshing the interior, rather than on the powertrain or exterior styling, giving the 2013 Cadillac SRX a quieter cabin, more technological features, and a new CUE entertainment system that is standard on all models.

The new SRX is available in four model levels: Standard, Premium, Luxury, and Performance. The refreshed interior adds an updated infotainment control system that gets rid of the cluttered dash and touchscreen that rises from the dash in place of a new LCD screen with intuitive controls. New color combinations let the SRX become more customizable and give it a more high-quality feel with wood accents. There is plenty of room for adult passengers, although head room is cramped in the rear seats.

In addition to the refreshed interior, Cadillac cleaned up the front and rear styling, as well as incorporated LED light pipes into the front fender vents. The 2013 Cadillac SRX also gains new optional safety features, including Driver Awareness, and Driver Assist packages that include radar-based crash avoidance features.

New for 2013

For the 2013 model year, the Cadillac SRX receives a new infotainment interface, including new voice commands and hand gestures. An active noise-cancellation system has also been added to reduce road noise. The front and rear styling has also been updated.
