The 2009 Cadillac XLR luxury sports car is built upon the same platform as the Corvette. But, Caddy's stylists has created a sporty roadster that looks more like a sports car of the future.
With an electronically limited top speed of 180 miles per hour, a soft-top convertible wouldn't do. The XLR's power-retractable hardtop deploys in under 30 seconds, providing added protection from the elements.
The XLR is powered by a 320 horsepower 4.6-liter Northstar V8. The high-performance XLR-V gets a 443 horsepower, 4.4-liter supercharged V8. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shift modes.
Fuel economy for the XLR ranges from 14 miles per gallon city, up to 24 miles per gallon highway.
Base MSRP for the 2009 Cadillac XLR is $86,215. A fully loaded XLR-V will top out at around $107,000. The XLR is backed by a 5-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty.
With a blend of sharp styling and high performance engines, the Cadillac XLR delivers for those who want luxury and have the need for speed!
