The 2013 Cadillac XTS boasts an array of modern technology. It's equipped with an easy-to-use navigation system with 3D GPS. The XTS also features a reconfigurable gauge cluster, which lets drivers design the dashboard to suit their needs. It also provides high-performance Brembo Brakes for ultimate control and stopping power, magnetic ride control, and advanced suspension technology.
New For 2013
The XTS is brand new for 2013, and Cadillac is quick to point out that this car is not intended to be the company’s new flagship vehicle. Regardless, consumers still find some great new features that they won’t find in the DTS or the STS. Although it's not a replacement for these models, it's an entirely new model focused on a younger and more tech savvy driver. Some of these new features include:
- Available all-wheel drive with electronically-controlled limited-slip differential
- The CUE infotainment navigation and communication system
- 14-speaker Bose Studio Surround Sound system
- Improved fuel economy
The 2013 XTS is unmistakably a Cadillac. The side mirrors are sculpted for added aerodynamics. Beautiful, 19-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires on the base model complement a unique Cadillac style grille. Drivers and passengers will also appreciate the 48-inch UltraView sunroof, which covers both the front and back seats.
Interior & Cargo
The 2013 Cadillac XTS receives an interior that is equipped with the state-of-the-art CUE infotainment navigation and communication system. This system starts with an LCD touch screen that is centrally located and lets the driver activate the 3D GPS, talk on the phone, listen to music, and much more with the wave of a hand and the touch of a few buttons. It also includes the reconfigurable gauge cluster, which is an LCD gauge display that lets drivers set up all their gauges so that the most-used information is in the most comfortable location for them.
The 2013 Cadillac XTS includes pressure mapping technology that maximizes front seat comfort with separate climate controls for both front and rear passengers. The 10-way power passenger and driver seats come with adjustable lumbar support and leather bucket front seats. This is a truly luxurious automobile inside and out. While the XTS is a bit smaller than the DTS and the STS, it’s still plenty big with as much legroom as passengers are likely to need. It features a large trunk with 18 cubic feet of cargo space.
The 2013 Cadillac XTS is equipped with high-performance Brembo brakes, which provide driving confidence, even at high speeds. Important standard safety features include stability control, traction control, front and rear side airbags, and OnStar. It also offers plenty of other safety features befitting a high tech vehicle, such as short range radar and a mirror-mounted safety cam that allow the car to alert drivers when someone is in their blind spot or when a potential crash seems imminent. The XTS also features emergency braking assist, electronic brake force distribution, tire pressure monitoring, child seat anchors, rear door child safety locks, and many additional safety features.
The 2013 Cadillac XTS features a direct injection, 3.6-liter, V-6 engine linked to a six-speed automatic transmission in all models. It offers front drive with all-wheel drive optional. This engine generates 264 lb-ft of torque and 301 horsepower and provides a fuel economy of 17/28 mpg city/highway, although adding all-wheel drive reduces the highway mpg just slightly to 27.
Drivers needn’t worry about handling this big machine. It's a bit smaller than some of its predecessors, but it also is designed for a quiet, controlled, and comfortable drive. Adaptive suspension dampers are standard, and the magnetic drive control uses electromagnetic pulses to adjust the shock absorbers and keep it on track, even in tough driving conditions.
