Much like the Colorado series in its past, the 2012 edition has only a few changes to the design and options. In this year, there are three options to choose from in the series including the regular cab, extended cab, and crew cab styles.
With the crew cab Colorado, drivers can expect options in the LT series or work truck choices. The crew cab features fourfull-size doors and five-foot cargo boxes as opposed to the six-foot ones in other models. The LT style offers a variety of trim
options to suit the consumer's specific needs. It's important to note that all versions of the regular cab except the L3 are offered with four-wheel drive as an option.
The extended cab Chevrolet Colorado has many features to look forward to as well. This truck offers two full-size doors in addition to smaller, rear access doors. It is available with different engine sizes including 2.9-liter four-cylinder and 3.7-liter five-cylinder.The biggest of them all, however, is a V-8 with a 300 horsepower capability, which didn't become an option until 2009.
The new Colorado series is also known for its comfortable standard extras such as privacy glass, air conditioning, and OnStar and Bluetooth capabilities, as well as AM/FM stereo.Certain models also feature automatic locks and electronic windows.Chevrolet Colorado Evolution
The Chevrolet Colorado was in production since 2004 and is currently in its first generation. In the past, this truck offered both manual and automatic transmission systems. It also is available in rear or four-wheel drive. These trucks fall in the midsize pickup truck category and can be found in every model year in the traditional two-door styles as well as extended cab and crew cab designs.
Certain feature packages have received a great deal of positive attention. The ZQ8 package was among the most popular options, which included a lower suspension to give the truck a sportier feel when driving. The wheel base was modified to provide additional support to the truck's unique suspension system. The bumper and grill are painted to match the rest of the body, and it features 17-inch wheels and tires.
In 2007, Chevrolet decided to make drastic changes to the Colorado and began manufacturing the trucks with new engine options. The 2.9-liter LLV 14engine as well as the 3.7-liter LLR 15 engine became the new options for the Colorado.
