The 2013 Chevrolet Silverado continues to stay competitive in the full-size truck segment, even though it hasn't undergone a full refresh or redesign in years. Chevrolet offers the Silverado in three different models--1500, 2500, and 3500--with each offering a Crew Cab, Short Bed, Long Bed, Standard Ben, and Hybrid option with the 3500 offering an Extended Cab option. The 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 models are equipped with a 4.8-liter V-8 engine that produces that produces 302 horsepower. The 2500 and 3500 models have a 6.0-liter V-8 engine and deliver 360 horsepower.

Fuel economy for the Silverado is an EPA-estimated 15/20 mpg city/highway, with the hybrid models getting 20/23 mpg city/highway. Those who use the Silverado simply as a work truck will find it durable and able to meet all needs. Moving up in models, Chevrolet offers a navigation system, heated and ventilated bucket seats on the LTZ models. Crew Cab models have a 60/40-split rear bench seats with flip-up cushions for a flat load floor. Standard safety equipment includes OnStar, electronic stability and traction control.

The Work models, or WT models, have been given the bare necessities including air conditioning, trip computer, tilt steering wheel, vinyl seating, and OnStar communications. LT models add full power accessories, keyless entry, cruise control, as well as a CD player, satellite radio, and adjustable lumbar support. Standard on the LT models include premium cloth seating, auto dimming rearview mirror, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, with the LTZ models featuring 20-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, exclusive dash design with wood and metallic accents, leather upholstery, as well as a Bose sound system Bluetooth, and 10-way power-adjustable heated front bucket seats.

New for 2013

The 2013 Chevrolet Silverado sees little changes for the new model year, as it is anticipating a full redesign for the next model year. Available on the 2500 Extended Cab models is a 6.0-liter V-8 bifuel engine and natural gas fuel system, with a V-8 turbo-diesel available on select 3500 models. Two new exterior colors, Ruby Red Metallic and Blue Topaz Metallic have also been added for the new model year.
