A great choice for off- and on-road driving.

The 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV is a powerful outdoorsy vehicle. It has 275 horsepower and many models to choose from. This year’s series is highly customizable with many packages and options with both exterior packages and interior add-ons. The exterior is equipped with all the necessary tools to cut through any weather, while the interior has everything you'll need to enjoy the outside climate without feeling it. The performance is smooth and quiet and this is one of the safest vehicles on the market. The fuel economy varies to each model but remains average overall.

The 2005 Chevy Trailblazer SUV has the standard luggage rack that is expected on SUVs. It includes cross bars and side rails. The headlights are dual halogen composite and feature daytime running lamps for added visibility. The wipers are present on both the front and rear windows. There are 10 color choices supporting this vehicle. The standard Chevy Trailblazer models offer a five-seat capacity whereas the EXT models offer a seven-seat capacity.

The 2005 Chevrolet SUV Trailblazer has numerous interior features. The windows, door locks, mirrors, and driver seat are all powered with the windows having the one touch feature for automatic lowering. The driver seat has manual adjustable lumbar support. The front seats are bucket seats making for a comfortable ride for almost any period of time. There is a universal remote transmitter built in for garage doors on the LT model and the steering wheel is tilt-adjustable on all models. Both the EXT LS and the EXT LT include third row seating and separate rear heating and conditioning controls. Cruise control, a sunroof, a DVD player, and OnStar are an option for all models. The LT model offers adjustable pedals and navigation and the LS model offers an MP3 player.

Performance & Handling

All models of the Chevy Trailblazer come with 4.2-liter six-cylinder engine with 275 horsepower, which produces 275 lb-ft of torque. All models are four-speed automatics and four-wheel drive is available for all models as well. The two-wheel drive models are rear drive, which makes it difficult to navigate harsh weather and heavy snow. The six-cylinder engine runs quietly, Chevy’s confidence in the silence of its engine shows in the device added to stop the starter from grinding when it's already running. The Chevrolet Trailblazer is rated to tow 6300 lbs on the two-wheel drive models and 6100 pounds on the four-wheel-drive models. The standard trailblazer handles very well, but the EXT models are less responsive and a bit more difficult to maneuver into small parking spots.

The 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer is rated very well as far as safety goes. It received three stars on driver front impact and rollover ratings, four stars on passenger front impact ratings, and five stars on both driver and passenger side impact ratings. The Trailblazer is equipped with the standard four-wheel anti-lock brake system. Air bags are present in front of both the driver and passenger with an option for a full-side air bag curtain. For families, the Trailblazer includes a child seat restraint system and child safety locks for the rear doors. Daytime running lamps are included so that the vehicle is easier to spot on the road even in the day, and the horn has two tones, both high and low.
