The bold stance of the 2009 Chrysler 300 premium sedan, with its massive grille and flared fenders, remains essentially unchanged from 2008.
The 300's V6 engines are a 178 horsepower 2.7 liter and a 250 horsepower 3.5 liter. The V8's offered include a 360 horsepower 5.7 liter, up from 340 in '08, and a massive 6.1-liter HEMI V8 dishing out 425 horsepower. All of this muscle is sent to the rear wheels or available all wheel drive via a 4-speed automatic on the smaller V6. All wheel drive versions of the 3.5-liter V6 and all V-8s get the 5-speed automatic.
Fuel economy ranges from 13 miles per gallon city with the largest V8, up to to 26 miles per gallon highway with the 2.7-liter V6.
Available trims are base, touring, limited, and SRT8. The base comes standard with 17-inch aluminum wheels, 4-wheel disc brakes, and tilt-telescoping steering wheel. The HEMI powered SRT8 sports brawny 20 inch wheels, performance tuned suspension and steering, and chrome-tipped dual exhaust.
Base MSRP for the 2009 Chrysler 300 is $26,665. A fully loaded SRT8 will top out at just under $50,000. The 300 is backed by Chrysler's generous unlimited powertrain warranty.
Chrysler's flagship 300 sedan continues to turn heads with bold, crisp styling and plenty of power to back it up.
