The 2008 Chrysler Aspen full-size SUV is the first sport utility to carry the Chrysler brand. Built on the Dodge Durango platform, the Aspen has a rugged soul, luxurious styling and is loaded with a long list of standard features.
The Aspen is powered by either a 4.7 liter V8 putting out 235 horsepower, or a 5.7 liter HEMI V8 generating 345 horsepower. The HEMI's Multiple displacement system or MDS shuts down 4 of the 8 cylinders at high speeds, conserving fuel. Both engines are linked to a 5 speed automatic transmission.
Standard features include woodgrain accents in the cabin, tire pressure monitor, power driver's seat, electronic stability control and side curtain air bags. Available options include a power lift gate, 8 speaker Alpine sound system with subwoofer, and 20 inch wheels.
Gas mileage for the Aspen's 4.7 liter is 14 city and 18 highway, while the MDS aided HEMI gets 14 city and 19 highway.
Base MSRP is $32,005. A HEMI powered Aspen will cost around $38,000 and will come with many of the optional features standard.
Bridging off-road capability and luxury, the all-new 2008 Chrysler Aspen offers affordable luxury in a full-size SUV.
