Exterior

The 1999 Chrysler Sebring has approximately a 190-inch length, 70-inch width, 53-inch height, and 104-inch wheelbase. Both the coupe and convertible have an attractive design that is appealing to people of all ages. It features body-colored front and rear bumpers, internally adjustable door mirrors, front fog lights, tinted glass, and halogen headlights. A power moon roof is optional on coupe models. Convertible models have a power vinyl top and heated power outside mirrors. The Sebring weighs approximately 3300 pounds and sits on 15-inch wheels. Alloy wheels are optional on all models.

Interior

The interior of the 1999 Chrysler Sebring is roomy enough to fit four or five passengers, depending on whether it’s the coupe or convertible body style. In the front, both coupes and the LXi convertible model have cloth bucket seats with height-adjustable head restraints, divided by a storage console. JXi Convertible models have leather seats. All models have pockets in the doors and bins on the seats for easy storage. In the dash, there are logically-arranged gauges, conveniently-located controls, and a storage console. In the rear, there is a bench seat that fits up to three people. The Sebring features power windows and locks, front reading lights, passenger assist handles, and an AM/FM stereo with a cassette and CD player included and six speakers. Convertible models also feature a 12-volt auxiliary power outlet.

Performance & Handling

The 1999 Chrysler Sebring LX comes packed with a two-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 140 horsepower and 133 lb-ft of torque. All other models have a 2.5-liter six-cylinder engine that pumps out 163 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque. The engines are mated with either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. The Sebring has decent acceleration and provides excellent performance on the highway and when driving around town.

The 1999 Chrysler Sebring is built with an independent wishbone front suspension with a stabilizer bar and coil springs teamed with an independent wishbone rear suspension with coil springs. This stable platform provides a smooth ride and gives drivers the ability to sweep around corners with ease. The Sebring features speed-sensitive steering, which makes it a pleasure to drive around town and enables graceful maneuvering in traffic.

Safety

The 1999 Chrysler Sebring JX and JXi models are equipped with anti-lock brakes on all four wheels. The LX and LXi do not come standard with anti-lock brakes. All models have driver and front passenger front-impact airbags installed. Child safety locks are used on the rear doors.
