The 2008 Chrysler Sebring is nicely styled, fun-to-drive car that, in addition to the sedan, is now available in a retractable hard-top convertible that keeps winter out but lets summer in.
The Sebring has 3 power plant options: a 2.4 liter inline-4 that puts out 173 horsepower, a 189 horsepower 2.7 liter V6 and a 235 horsepower 3.5 liter V6. A 4 speed automatic transmission is standard equipment for all engines, however a 6-speed automatic is available to handle all 235 horses of the 3.5 liter.
Trims are Base LX, Touring and Limited. For the many innovative options such as heating/cooling cup holders, a GPS navigation system, and a center console entertainment system that stores up to 20 gigabytes of music you will have to opt for the Touring or Limited.
Mileage estimates for the 2.4 liter are 24 city and 31 highway miles. The 2.7 liter comes in at 20 city and 28 highway, while the 3.5 gets 19 highway and 28 city miles per gallon.
Base MSRP is $18,690 for the sedan and $25,840 for the innovative hard-top convertible. An optioned-out Limited will cost upwards of $30,000.
With the new hard-top convertible in the fleet, the Sebring now offers the top down option with the quiet comfort of a sedan.
