1995 Dodge B1500 Review

Gas guzzling van with lots of capabilities.

Reviewed by Automotive on

The 1995 Dodge B1500 is a passenger van, and with extended length models available, it's a great means of transporting a lot of people. It doesn't provide very much luxury, and it doesn't have a huge list of options. The B1500 also can't boast a lot of power, especially with the standard package. That said, there is a ton of legroom, and gas mileage could be worse. However, it is definitely not a flashy or feature-packed van. It offers basic van capabilities.

The Range

Body Styles: van
Engines: 175-hp 3.9-liter V-6, 235-hp 5.2-liter V-8
Transmissions: three-speed automatic, four-speed automatic
Models: Dodge B1500

What's New

The 1995 Dodge B1500 receives nearly no upgrades from the previous year's model. It is virtually identical to the 1994 model.

The exterior of the 1995 Dodge B1500 comes in 10 color options, which includes medium turquoise metallic, Colorado red, and parade blue. Other exterior features include 15-inch wheels, tinted glass, and intermittent windshield wipers. Exterior options include sunscreen glass, styled steel wheels, and a host of chrome upgrades. Chrome options include a step bumper, front and back bumpers, and wheels. The B1500 is available in an extended size and a regular size. Regular size models measure 187.2 inches in length. The extended B1500 measures 205 inches, and it has a slightly larger turning radius. Both models are rather average in their turning abilities.

The Dodge Ram B1500 comes with vinyl seating, but cloth seating is available. Other standard interior features include an AM/FM stereo system and more than enough seating for everyone. The AM/FM stereo can be replaced with an AM/FM/Cassette stereo. Air conditioning is available for either the front only or for the front and rear passengers. Other interior options include cruise control and adjustable tilt steering wheel for adding comfort. The interior provides plenty of legroom and headroom for everyone, and if the Dodge Ram B1500 has a winning quality, it's the extremely spacious interior.

Performance & Handling

The 1995 Dodge Ram B1500 comes standard with a 3.9-liter V-6 engine and a three-speed automatic transmission. This package is a bit sluggish, but the optional 5.2-liter V-8 with a four-speed transmission gives the B1500 the power it really needs. The B1500 has a turning radius of 40.5 feet. The standard engine creates 225 lb-ft of torque. The Dodge Ram B1500 is able to tow up to 3500 pounds.

The 1995 Dodge Ram B1500 comes standard with driver's side airbag and rear-wheel anti-lock brakes. Four-wheel anti-lock brakes are an available option. Other safety options include fog lights, auto-dim mirrors, and a limited slip differential. Unfortunately, there have been no major crash tests conducted on the 1995 Dodge Ram B1500.
