With its unveiling in 2006, the Dodge Charger became a legend reborn. While the classic 60's Charger was a 2-door muscle car, the new version is a full-size 5-passenger sedan, with the heart of its predecessor. The 2010 Charger is a carryover from the '09 model year.
The 2010 Dodge Charger offers 4 engine choices: a 178 horsepower 2.7 liter V6, 250 horsepower 3.5 liter V6, and a 5.7 liter Hemi V8 generating 368 horsepower, which is found on the R/T trim. A 6.1-liter Hemi V8 425 horsepower comes in the SRT8 model. V6's are equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission, while V8's get a 5-speed auto, sending power to the rear wheels or available all wheel drive.
Fuel economy for the Charger ranges from 13 miles per gallon city, up to 26 miles per gallon highway, depending upon powertrain choices.
Chargers equipped with all wheel drive get an active transfer case with front axle disconnect technology. This makes for a setup that can be run in the muscle car oriented rear wheel drive setup, or all wheel drive when road conditions dictate extra traction.
Initial base MSRP for the 2010 Dodge Charger is $24,390. A nicely equipped R/T model will cost around $36,000, while a fully loaded SRT8 model will top out at around $45,000. The Charger is backed by a 5-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty
The 2010 Dodge Charger combines the features of a family-sized sedan with the bold styling and performance equipment worthy of its muscle car heritage.
