Your watching a WheelsTV Top200 vehicle test drive on the 2007 Dodge Magnum RT.
The Dodge Magnum RT combines a low, aggressive profile with the utility associated with the venerable station wagon, to create a one-of-a-kind family hauler that can provide some upper-end performance as well.
The Magnum RT name was a familiar one around the muscle car neighborhood in the 1960's and 70's with Hemi and 440 V8 -powered Mopars prowling streets and boulevards across America. The 2007 Magnum RT carries on with those street performance roots with the new-generation 5.7 liter, 16-valve Hemi-head V8 that produces 340 horsepower at 5000 RPMs and 375 foot-pounds of torque at 4000 RPMs. Mileage estimates from the EPA are well within reason for a V8 powered bruiser like the Magnum RT: 17 miles per gallon in the city, 25 miles per gallon on the highway.
The transmission is a 5-speed automatic that does have a manual feature that allows you to choose the gears as you go if you like.
18-inch polished aluminum alloy wheels are also standard on the Magnum RT wrapped with p225/60 R18 low-profile touring tires.
The standard features on the Magnum RT are extensive, including a 276 watt, 6-speaker Boston acoustic sound system with compact disc player, leather trimmed seats, 8-way power driver's seat and power windows.
The list of available options is also quite comprehensive, including a Sirius satellite digital radio, hands-free cellular phone connection, roof rack and cargo organizer, a towing package, and a power sunroof-just to name a few.
The suggested retail base price for the Magnum RT is $31,715 and how much further up you go depends on how many of those numerous options you'd like to have.
The 2007 Dodge Magnum RT bridges a gap that few vehicles have ever attempted to fill: a muscle-bound station wagon that has a Hemi under the hood and a hip, unconventional profile that copies nothing else on the market.
