Manufactured in the U.S. at the Warren Truck Assembly Plant in Michigan, the 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 enjoys global popularity. It is globally manufactured in Mexico at Saltillo Truck Assembly, Coahuila. The Mega Cab earns popular for its size and seating capacity and serving as a comfortable truck for routine use.

The Ram 2500 is a big, powerful, heavy-duty pickup. Numerous mechanical upgrades in recent years make the pickup sleeker in appearance and higher in load capacity. The vehicle offers a powerful engine and roomy interior. First manufactured by the Chrysler Group in 1981, Dodge Ram initially belonged to the category of light trucks. The first generation Dodge Ram models include the 5.9-liter, I-6, Cummins turbo-diesel; 3.9-liter V-6; 5.9-liter V-8; and 5.2-liter V-8.

The 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 comes in three cab styles: regular cab, crew cab or quad cab, and jumbo crew cab or mega cab. The regular cabs offer ST or SLT models with long bed configuration. The crew cab comes in base ST and Laramie or SLT trim models. It offers either a long or short cargo bed, as does the quad cab. The third type of cab, the mega, comes only in Laramie and SLT models.

What's New

The latest version of the Dodge Ram 2500 contains a more powerful engine (a 5.7-liter Hemi V-8). It comes equipped with added features, including an entertainment system, Bluetooth, a stereo, a sunroof, power adjustable pedals, satellite radio, and front bucket seats. For diesel engines, the vehicle comes equipped with a remote control option. The latest Ram Power wagon still only offers the crew cab body style. The new two-wheel drive model boasts rack-and-pinion steering and a unique front suspension. The diesel in the revised model pairs with six-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission. The 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 offers an exhaust brake for the diesel model, which proves very helpful when towing big loads up to 13,350 pounds.

Exterior

The 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 also has the power wagon model for four-wheel drive crew cabs. This type of Dodge Ram proves very successful offroad. Equipped with 33-inch tires, alloy wheels, a front stabilizer (electronic), skid plates of 12,000 pounds, a front antiroll bar (electronic), differential locks (rear and front), and higher suspension.

The 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 comes equipped with 17-inch wheels. The SLT model features keyless entry.

Interior

The 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 comes equipped with a CD player, a front bench seat (40/20-split), air-conditioning, and vinyl upholstery. The Dodge Laramie offers more luxury, featuring a power driver’s seat, audio controls on the steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, upgraded speakers, and leather seats. The SLT model features cruise control, keyless entry, full power accessories, and cloth upholstery. The Dodge Ram interior comes equipped with a speedometer and ammeter, an oil pressure gauge at bottom right, a bench seat, a temperature gauge at bottom left, and fuel gauge at top right.

The 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 cabin features include a huge center bin, climate controls (simple twist-knob), and white-faced gauges. The Ram crew cab has six seats. The rear seats of this model fold to make a floor for carrying big items. The mega cabs feel more comfortable than in the earlier version. The new version of the mega cab is truly hard to beat. The back seats feel quite roomy, with acres of cab space.
