I have previously owned a Ford F-150 and really like the general feel and ability to haul things that a pickup truck provides. I recently decided to get a large camping trailer for vacations and road trips. Unfortunately, the old Ford would not be able to adequately haul it up and down mountains, so I decided to upgrade to something with a bit more towing capacity. I would have liked to remain loyal but the local dealership, which I had done business with for a long time, had shut their doors. Since I didn't feel super loyal, I decided to see what my other options were. After lots of online and in person research, along with advice from friends, I decided to go with the Dodge 3500. I definitely still considered the F350 but I thought the styling and feel of the Dodge to be superior. It had great little features that I really enjoyed. Most importantly, though, it really had the power I needed to transport my new camping trailer around. So far, I've taken it in three road trips and I've never felt like it wasn't able to perform exactly like I would expect. Overall, I don't think I could be more happy with my purchase. Hopefully, I don't need to replace the truck anytime soon, but if I do I'd likely strongly consider replacing it with another one. My only small complaint is that the gas mileage is a little lower than I'd like; but, with this class of vehicle I suppose that is to be expected.
