The five-year-old 2000 Dodge Stratus may be another midsize sedan, however, it gives consumers access to so much more. This car seats five and offers tons of cargo and interior space. It performs at a capable level and boasts more no-additional-cost features with the new SE model than last year.

The entry-level SE replaces the base model from last year. It comes with much more standard equipment at no cost. The upper-level ES now comes with a 2.5-liter V-6 and new colors to choose from.
There are 10 exterior paint colors to choose from, some new, on the 2000 Dodge Stratus. Power brakes, a rear window defroster, tinted glass, a remote trunk release, 14-inch wheels, and intermittent windshield wipers all come standard.
Dodge offers a ton of optional upgrades, such as an anti-theft alarm system, power heated mirrors, a keyless entry system, a lighted entry system, a power sunroof, daytime running lights, power windows and locks, and special factory paint. Steel wheels come standard on the SE, whereas cast aluminum wheels enhance the ES.
The Stratus reaches a maximum towing capacity of 1000 pounds. It measures 54.2 inches tall, 186 inches long, and sits on a wheelbase of 108 inches. Curb weight totals 2940 pounds and ground clearance comes in at 4.7 inches. The trunk offers a whopping 15.7 cubic feet of storage.
The large interior comes in either agate or camel colors and standard cloth bucket seats and a center console. Leather seating comes standard in the luxury ES model, along with leather trim on the steering wheel.
Power driver’s seat in the 2000 Dodge Stratus upgrades, along with the cruise control. The rear seat fully folds with a lockable seatback function, and the seat unlocks from inside the vehicle or from the trunk. Other features include a tachometer, power steering, air-conditioning, and an AM/FM/cassette audio system. One can upgrade to a compact disc changer.
Passengers enjoy 52.7 inches of rear hip room, 36.8 inches of rear headroom, 38.1 inches of rear legroom, and 54.7 inches of rear shoulder room.

Both 2000 Dodge Stratus models come with touring suspension, four-wheel independent suspension, and power steering. The ES takes it a notch further with speed-sensing steering and alloy wheels.
