The 2007 Escape Hybrid is a light and nimble 4-door, 5-passenger sport-utility that offers both impressive road handling and competent off road capabilities. This carryover design from 2006 is available in two trims, front wheel drive and four wheel drive.
The front wheel drive Escape Hybrid achieves 36-miles per gallon in the city and 31 on the highway from a 133-hp four-cylinder engine linked to a 70-kilowatt electric motor. Combined, they put out 155 horsepower.
The 4 wheel drive has the same engine setup but gets just 32 miles per gallon in the city and 29 on the highway. A variable speed automatic transmission or CVT, with overdrive is standard on both trims.
The Escape Hybrid comes standard with full power accessories. Lots of options are available including leather, an audiophile sound system and a navigation system.
Base MSRP is $25,655 for the front wheel drive and $27,260 for the four wheel drive Escape Hybrid.
