For 2007, the best-selling Ford Explorer continues as the cornerstone of Ford's SUV line.
The Explorer has two engine choices on all trim levels. The 4.0 liter V6 puts out 210 horsepower and is mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission. The more powerful 4.6 liter V8 produces 292 horsepower and is linked to a 5-speed automatic.
Available trims are XLT, Limited, and Eddie Bauer Edition. All are available in 2 or 4 wheel drive. All Explorers offer a long list of standard features. For options such as powered adjustable pedals, quad bucket seats and a universal garage door opener one has to go for the Eddie Bauer or Limited.
The Explorer Limited has a 3rd row and seats up to 7, while the XLT and Eddie Bower seats 5.
Mileage for the V6 powered Explorer is 15 miles per gallon, city and 21 highway. The V8 gets 14 city and 20 highway.
Base MSRP is $25,370, with full options expect to pay in the low to mid 30's.
