For decades now, Ford model trucks have been the best-sellers, and while truck sales have dipped some recently due mainly to rising gas prices, the quality of available Ford lines and subsequent trims are still the best thing going. In recent years, Ford answered that call by providing plenty of high-grade optional features across the F-Series to off-set the soaring cost of gasoline.
The Ford F-Series virtually dominated the marketplace for nearly thirty years with the F-150 as one of its standouts in the half-ton arena. The majority of consumers end-up with an F-150: a perfect blend of commuter-car with rugged hauling capabilities.

2007 saw two new standard features that have been added across all trims, MP3 connectivity, and tire pressure monitoring, while options include Sirius satellite radio and a navigation system. Opting for the Lariat line nabs buyers a power-operated auto dimming mirror on the driver side, while the FX2 Sport Package contains special 18-inch alloy wheels, one-tone paint, and a red and black interior option.
For 2007, the Ford F-150 retains its now classic exterior design with the only the smallest of alterations, having gone through an extensive change back in 2004. Aside from some peppering of chrome trim and a few choice colors, the F-150 also features a slightly taller rear bed of about two inches. A notable exterior change is found on the Super Cab line that features an optional roll-down back window that's a first for this particular segment of the F-150.
For a pickup truck, the 2007 Ford F-150 is surprisingly car-like on the inside: spacious, comfortable, quiet, and attractive. Helping to raise the bar in terms of its cabin ""sleekness"" is the inclusion of ample amounts of chrome, wood, and leather that’s generously laid out without being over the top. Unless buyers opt for the optional overhead storage console, the F-150 does suffer a bit from a lack of cargo room, but luckily the rear seats do fold up in the extended trims, providing more than enough hauling room for the biggest of items.
Performance & Handling
The three-option engine breakdown for the 2007 Ford F-150 include the 4.2-liter V-6 for regular cabs only, which delivers 202 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque; the 4.6-liter V-8, which brings out 248 hp and 293 lb-ft of torque; and the top-end 5.4-liter, Triton V-8 engine, which is capable of generating 300 hp and 365 lb-ft of torque. Unfortunately, the 4.2- and 4.6-liter engines are held back by the F-150’s excessive curb weight. The vehicle weight also affects its braking distance, which runs long, but the F-150 is an overall dynamic ride that communicates both sturdiness and confidence.
Unfortunately, the 2007 Ford F-150 does not offer side impact airbags or stability control but otherwise comes decently loaded with the bulk of expected safety features. Traction control and four-wheel anti-lock brakes are standard, plus it’s worth noting that the F-150 performed exceptionally in front impact testing by the NHTSA.
