What's New
The 2012 Ford F-150 is mostly a carryover from the refreshed 2011 model. The biggest changes for 2012 include a new FX appearance package with 20-inch flat-black wheels, bodyside graphics, and a black-leather interior with special accents. Yet there are also some unseen changes as well, like Hill Start Assist, which helps the truck not roll backward when stopped on a hill; a new automatic four-wheel drive system, which replaces the manual system, and an electronic locking rear axle for 3.5-liter V-6 and 5.0-liter V-8 models. Also, the EcoBoost four-wheel drive gets a new 36-gallon fuel tank for up to 756-mile range.
Exterior
For the most part, the 2012 Ford F-150 looks the same as the 2011 truck, but there are now 20-inch wheels and an available FX appearance package.
Interior
The 2012 Ford F-150 can seat three to six passengers, depending on cab choice, and there are all the usual amenities, including Ford Sync, and the latest in Bluetooth and MP3 audio connect ability.
Performance & Handling
It's a truck. A tough truck, an efficient truck, or a fast truck, depending on the model. For performance, the 2012 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor is the truck to have. With a wide stance, 411-hp V-8, and an assortment of off-road goodies, it's quicker than many cars. The EcoBoost V-6, too, is a capable freeway passer, and offers an unsurpassed 11,300-pound towing capacity.
Safety
The Ford F-150 comes standard with an assortment of safety features like dual-stage front airbags, roll stability control, and a crash-alert system.
