2010 Ford Focus Review

Capable, but boring, coupe or sedan

Reviewed by Automotive on

In a Nutshell
The 2010 Ford Focus is an economy compact car available as a coupe or sedan in several trim levels: S Sedan, SE Sedan, SEL Sedan, SES Sedan, SE Coupe, and SES Coupe. The Ford Focus is powered by a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine paired to a five-speed manual transmission, while a four-speed automatic is available as an option.

The interior of the Ford Focus is spacious, accommodates four passengers, and has 13.8 cubic-feet of cargo space in the trunk. A dependable vehicle that balances practicality and attractiveness, the Ford Focus boasts Sync connectivity, heated front seats, and a tried-and-true design. A major plus is its fuel economy, which is in the 24 mpg city / 35 mpg highway range, but its safety ratings leave something to be desired.

New for 2010

For 2010, the Focus gets Ford's MyKey system, keyless entry, power door locks, driver's message center, and Sync with traffic, directions, and information.

On the Outside

While the design of the Ford Focus is largely vanilla flavored, the SES trims exhibit a bit of flair, as these come with 17-inch wheels, a new front fascia, and a rear spoiler.

Standard safety systems on the Ford Focus include dual front, front side-impact, and front-and-rear side curtain airbags, plus stability control, four-wheel anti-lock brakes, and a tire-pressure monitoring system.
