2013 Ford Fusion Review

Reviewed by Automotive on

Vehicle Overview

The 2013 Ford Fusion midsize sedan is all-new this year with plans to out-sell the Toyota Camry as the best-selling car in America. The Fusion is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that gets 22/34 mpg city/highway, and is available in eight models, the S, S Hybrid, SE, SE Hybrid, Titanium, Titanium Hybrid, Energi SE, and Energi Titanium. The Fusion Energi stands apart from the lineup for its fuel efficiency, thanks to its plug-in hybrid engineering.

In a recent test drive, the Ford Fusion Energi changed the perception of what a hybrid plug-in drives and looks like. It adds luxury and refinement to the segment, turning heads while driving down the street. With a range of 620 miles on a full battery charge and tank of gas, the Fusion Energi gives peace of mind to the issue of running out of a charge. "The Fusion Energi was nimble and responsive when needing to make sharp turns and avoid road construction obstacles. It had no issues making its way through the city, and the quietness of the cabin made the ride that much more enjoyable."

Like the Fusion Energi, the Fusion delivers superb handling and driving dynamics, and with different engines and transmissions to choose from, the Fusion can be personalized for every customer. Standard features include automatic headlights, power accessories, integrated blind spot mirror, keyless entry trip computer, Sync audio and phone interface, and iPod integration. The SE adds an exterior keypad entry, heated mirrors, rear air ducts, rear fold-down armrest, satellite radio, and an enhanced audio interface. The Titanium models feature a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, sport-tuned suspension, auto-dimming side mirrors, rear parking sensors, sport front seats, and HD radio.
