Exterior
The newly-redesigned 2013 Ford Fusion is available in three trims: S, SE, and Titanium with EcoBoost. A hybrid and plug-in model are also available. The sleek, exterior design is modern and athletic looking, while the inverted trapezoid grille gives the car a very unique look. Ford has even paid attention to the little things in its redesign with laser-cut headlamps that are wider and automatically activate when the lighting changes. The LED tail lamps also illuminate faster than conventional ones, while new active grille shutters reduce aerodynamic drag and air resistance to increase efficiency. Sixteen-inch, steel wheels come standard on the Fusion S, 17-inch, aluminum wheels are standard on the SE, and 18-inch wheels are an available option. The Titanium offers 18-inch, polished aluminum wheels and offers 19-inch, premium, painted wheels. The Hybrid and Energi models come with the hybrid-unique, 17-inch, aluminum wheels. An upgraded Appearance Package also offers a rear deck lid spoiler, leather-wrapped steering wheel, fog lamps, and red stitching on the armrest, center console, and seats.
Interior & Cargo
Inside the 2013 Ford Fusion, you’ll find comfortable seats and ambient lighting in blue, red, green, orange, or purple. Technology surrounds the driver with Bluetooth, an iPod input, electric power steering, USB connection, and available satellite radio. SYNC with MyFord Touch allows drivers to keep their eyes on the road and their hands on the wheel by using touch controls and voice commands to play music, use the hands-free phone, and receive turn-by-turn directions. Two configurable displays are controlled by switch pads located on the steering wheel and an LCD screen in the center console. An EcoGuide gauge cluster on the Hybrid model displays instant fuel economy readings, trip data, and more.
The 2013 Ford Fusion provides comfortable seating for five passengers. Even the base model offers a 10-way, power driver’s seat with power lumbar support. The SE Luxury and Titanium models come with leather-trimmed, heated seats and power recline. A split-folding rear seatback allows for extra storage space in the back.
Safety
The 2013 Ford Fusion is not only a fuel efficient, stylish car, but it also has top-of-the-line safety features. The new, redesigned chassis is stiffer and safer than previous models with features that aren’t typically found in this class. Driving Experience
The 2013 Ford Fusion offers a variety of engine choices. A standard 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine comes with a SelectShift six-speed automatic transmission. Ford also offers two EcoBoost engines: the 1.6-liter four-cylinder with a six-speed automatic or an optional manual transmission, and a 2.0-liter with six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The EcoBoost engines offer power and responsiveness without sacrificing fuel efficiency. The next level of green technology is the Fusion Hybrid, which comes with a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder Atkinson-cycle powertrain and electronically-controlled continuously variable transmission (eCVT). The Fusion Plug-In Hybrid features an electric, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder Atkinson-cycle hybrid engine. An available intelligent all-wheel-drive system and enhanced suspension provide improved traction and handling.
