About the Ford Fusion
The Ford Fusion was designed to replace the Ford Taurus, which went out of production in the same year it was introduced. This was no small feat, as the Taurus was a popular car sold in the U.S. for many years. Known for its performance and fuel economy, the Ford Fusion is a four-door sedan that can compete with the likes of the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. The Ford Fusion offers seating for five, and has adequate headroom and legroom. Its introduction helped Ford regain its hold on the midsize family sedan market, which was dominated by imports.
The 2006 Ford Fusion S, which was the base model,is equipped with the 2.3-liter Duratec 160 hp four-cylinder engine, which was designed by Mazda and paired with a five-speed manual transmission or five-speed automatic transmission. The 2012 Ford Fusion offers the following models in their lineup: S, SE, SEL, Sport, and Hybrid.There are many mechanical features that are standard across all models of the 2012 Ford Fusion. They include front-wheel drive, four-wheel disk antilock brakes (ABS), power rack and pinion steering, front and rear stabilizer bars, a front independent suspension, and rear multilink independent suspension.
Standard exterior features include a bright chrome three-bar grille, EasyFuel capless fuel filler and quad-beam halogen headlights.Standard safety and security features include front seat side airbags, two side-curtain airbags, AdvanceTrac electronic stability control with brake-actuated traction control, battery saver, MyKey, remote keyless entry with keyhead transmitters, side intrusion door beams, and a tire pressure monitoring system.

The 2012 Ford Focus S offers cloth seats that comfortably fit five passengers. Split-fold rear seats offer cargo space in addition to the trunk. Exterior features include 16-inch alloy wheels and power sideview mirrors.
The 2012 Ford Fusion SE offers a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with a six-speed transmission.It includes all of the standard features listed above plus upgraded seats, stereo, and steering wheel-mounted cruise and audio controls. Exterior features include 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlamps, power sideview mirrors, and fog lamps.
The 2012 Ford Fusion SEL offers a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a six-speed transmission. A 3.0-liter V-6 engine and a six-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift paddles are optional.
The SEL includes the entire standard SE features plus upgraded seats with heated and leather-trimmed features, ambient lighting, dual-zone temperature control, Ford SYNC voice-activated communication system, and a universal garage door opener.
The 2012 Ford Fusion Sport is equipped with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine (263 hp and 249 lb-ft of torque) and six-speed automatic transmission. It also comes with SelectShift as well as a sport-tuned suspension.
It includes all of the SE features listed above plus upgraded leather-trimmed seats and door inserts, SYNC, and an applique on center stack and dash. Exterior features include 18-inch premium painted alloy wheels, a black chrome grille, rear deckled spoiler, and side rocker moldings.

In 2007, Several features were improved across the model line. A year later, antilock brakes, SYNC, and Sport appearance package were introduced.In 2009, stability control and traction control were made standard for V-6 models.The Fusion was re-styled for 2010 and the Hybrid model was introduced. In 2011, MyKey was introduced as well as manual shift on automatic transmissions.
