Mine is a ext cab, 4x4, xlt, with a 3.0 V6. I bought it new from the dealer. It has the original motor, but I had to put a new tranny, clutch, front ball joints and 4x4 hubs in it at 180,000 miles. = ) . It has been used for everything from a farm truck / work truck to a weekend warrior for camping and canoe trips. While playing in the rain, I accidently drove it into 4 foot of water. The following day we dumped and flushed every fluid twice, then drove it home as if nothing ever happened. Out of all the trucks I have owned, from an 85 Chevy S10 4x4 to an 04 Dodge Ram 4x4, I always seem to come back to this truck. It has never let me down. I currently have over 279,000 miles on my Ranger. With good maintenance I believe I will get at least another 50,000 miles, probably more out of it. My only complaints are the lack of access to the space behind the seats and the step side bed. The bed looks cool till you try to put anything into it. Then you realize how much space is lost in design. And lastly the biggest complaint and epic failure, Ford will no longer produce the Ranger after 2012.
