Quite a stunner and even more desirable as an M version

The new 2007 BMW 3 Series coupe is one of the more important new product launches of 2006, and BMW buffs around the globe are anxiously waiting to see the finished car. Well, we've got spy shots here, courtesy of an attentive photographer on the back roads of Bavaria. (What was he doing there? Can't tell ya' or we'd have to kill ya'...) The car really is quite a stunner and we should assume it will be even more desirable as an M version.

Once again, Chris "no edge is straight" Bangle will have been responsible for the design and there is guaranteed to be a controversy among BMW purists, as the new 3 Series coupe borrows definite styling cues from the 6 Series (which is part of the Bangle plot).

The new 2007 BMW 3 Series will feature various engines, from a four-cylinder 2.0-liter gasoline engine right through to a powerful V-8 4.0-liter powerplant that will propel the flagship M3 version. Four-wheel-drive options should also be offered. As would be expected from BMW, it will feature a beautifully balanced steering and suspension setup, combined with excellent brakes for when stopping becomes more important than going.

There's no question that this car will turn heads and that it will make good on BMW's promise to provide the "Ultimate Driving Experience." And we're quite certain it will fetch premium prices when it goes on sale later this year.
