This is the all-new CL-Class coupe, codenamed C216, which will make its debut within six months of the launch of the all-new S-Class on which it's based. Like the new S-Class, the new CL is longer and wider than its predecessor, and under the camouflage are similarly bold character lines.

The new CL will be packed with high technology, too, including single-lens bi-Xenon headlights and cameras front and rear to assist with parking. Standard engine for the U.S. will be the new 382-horse, 5.5-liter V-8 used in the S550, though European buyers can order one with a 4.0-liter diesel V-8.

This is the CL63 AMG version, to bow in spring 2007 with the new 503-horse, 6.2-liter AMG V-8, seven-speed automatic, and ceramic brakes. Deeper bumper fascias front and rear, quad exhausts, and large-diameter multispoke alloy wheels will visually differentiate it from the regular CL550.
